Current Openings

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembly and basic electrical wiring of the chiller equipment while ensuring that production objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with the Company’s high-quality standards.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Read and assemble from blue prints, general construction drawings, sketches or other specifications with proficiency and minimal direction.  Assembly includes basic electrical wiring.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines and hand tools related to the assembly of chillers.
  • Set up and execute high quality copper brazed connections.
  • Follow work instructions for assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting to ensure equipment is performing properly prior to shipping.
  • Inspect work performed by others and accurately complete the inspection paperwork.
  • Maintain good documentation practices.
  • Facilitate and promote safe and clean working conditions.
  • Assist production team in identifying and resolving quality issues as needed.
  • Proactively look for, and execute on, opportunities to continuously improve the manufacturing of chillers.
  • Follow and maintain Kanban system.
  • Handle material using proper lifting devices.
  • Identify preventative safety opportunities.
  • Attend huddles and contribute to open book management.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Overtime is a condition of employment and may be required from time to time.

  • Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience of process chillers is preferred.

We are currently searching for a stainless steel Craftsman Grinder for our Springfield MO Facility.  Co-workers in this classification are required to have an advanced understanding and competency in stainless steel welding and grinding operations and blue print reading. Must be able to pass a Craftsman Grinding test.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform difficult and unusual manual and machine welding operations in all positions, including layout and fit up
  •  Shape, cut or form metal to fabricate complex parts using press brake, shear, roll, dishing machine, flanging equipment and various forming equipment.  Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns
  •  Set up or assist lower classifications in setting up machines
  •  Operate mobile crane equipment with the capacity of greater than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment
  •  Finish grinding where grade and type of abrasive must be determined. Finish and compliance to specifications are critical
  •  Perform other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned
  •  Guide and train other employees in any classification to improve their skills and perpetuate the trade

  •  Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches or other specifications with a high degree of proficiency and little or no supervision or direction.

  •  Knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are critical

We are currently looking for a Designer to join our team.  This position performs design work for a single major project or several minor projects, simultaneously. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Converts project information (e.g. specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing then uses to produce a product.
  • Identifies deviations in job scope, estimates magnitude of changes, and notifies the appropriate parties.
  • Assures that design continuity is maintained throughout the entire project.
  • Ensures communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within engineering and with other design and engineering disciplines.

We are currently looking for someone to join our team of Drivers.  You don't have to have your CDL. We will train you and help you get your CDL.  Mueller Transportation, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paul Mueller Company. This position hauls Mueller equipment as well as backhauls nationwide (and Canada).  Most of our focus is on specialized, oversize and flatbed freight.  Drive some of the newest tractors in the industry.  Home weekly with a few exceptions for longer trips.  

 

Job Functions:

  • Drive truck up to 11 hrs/day
  • Secure loads utilizing chains, straps, tarps, etc.
  • Assist with assembling/disassembling specialized trailers
  • Communicate with customer for delivery 
  • Communicate with MTI operations team for all load and equipment updates/issues
  • Follow all FMCSA driver guidelines
  • Must be able to transport loads into Canada
  • Follow and promote MTI Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Must maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer I.  This person will be responsible for multiple lower-level projects or a single large project that support the business through designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems

 

Summary

The Electrical Engineer I is an entry level engineer who is responsible for multiple lower-level projects or a single large project that support the business through designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems.  This position develops and implements control logic programs, schematics and panel designs through a variety of software programs with the oversight of a Lead or Electrical Engineer II.   The Electrical Engineer I is also responsible for validating the electrical design for reliability, performance, and safety standards. 

                                

Essential Job Functions

  • Electrical design activities to support the product line.
  • PLC/PAC/OIT troubleshooting activities.
  • Instrument configuration and programming as required to complete projects.
  • Assist electrical team in conduit routing and installation details as required to complete department projects.
  • Documentation activities to support the business needs which may include development of various operating instruction or manuals.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and process installation and troubleshooting of simple projects to support the business.  This may include the use of hand tools, gauges, multi-meters, and other measurement devices. 
  • Collaboration with customers as required to promote successful project execution, including but not limited to discussion with customer engineers and FAT Protocol execution.
  • Quotation development to support sales and marketing activities.
  • Technical collaboration with other professional disciplines to support the business.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license for travel.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with 3 phase power applications, distribution and use.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the development and implementation of automated control systems.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with solid state electronic component application.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with using P&ID’s to design process control systems.
  • Experience with integration of wide range of process analytical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, AutoCad preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronic Engineering required. 
  • One to three years of experience preferred.
  • Technical experience in these fields may be acceptable in lieu of the degree.

 

Base Compensation Range: $63,735 - $99,688 annually
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

•    Assist customers with warranty issues in accordance with Mueller’s written warranty policies and procedures.
•    Administer warranty program, including processing claims, maintaining documentation, and communications with customers and vendors regarding warranty issues.
•    Cooperate, assist, and add value to Sales/Service business relationships with internal and external customers in a competent manner.
•    Provide on-site support for both DFE and RP products lines as needed.

The Service Technician is responsible for customer satisfaction through direct contact with our customers to fulfill their technical service requirements. •    Responsible for the performance management (hiring, development, discipline, termination) of direct reports while collaborating with Human Resources.
•    Responsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which includes working with all levels and organizations of the company to maintain and provide status of key projects.
•    Manages manufacturing product line staff including monitoring, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and appraising job performance. 
•    Promote a culture that emphasizes safety for all activities.  In the case of a safety incident or injury, perform investigations and execute corrective actions in a timely manner.
•    Inform and train hourly employees on required safety topics, processes, and procedures. 
•    Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. 
•    Complete timekeeping, absenteeism, and attendance related corrective actions in a timely manner. 
•    Organize, prioritize, plan and establish work schedules, assignments, & production sequences to meet. 
•    Define and drive continuous improvement in area to improve business results and process repeatability.  
•    Manage and maintain housekeeping and 5S. 
•    Create and manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). 
•    Communicate with Planning daily to ensure adequate maintenance of proper inventory levels, delivery schedules, and production needs to successfully achieve the project schedule.  
•    Assist with managing product line financials including participation in Open Book Management.
•    Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate operations and labor activities between product lines as necessary.
•    Ensure lessons learned applied to future efforts.
•    The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
•    Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
•    Perform other related duties, as needed and assigned, including backup for other department personnel, to ensure support of the production plan.

•    Possess a working knowledge of engineering prints and manufacturing capacity to effectively determine need dates for components.
•    Knowledge of the master data that drives forecasting, planning, scheduling, and shipping within an ERP system.

Education and Experience
•    A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Materials Management or other degree fields are preferred.  High School Diploma required. 
•    A minimum of (3) years related experience in manufacturing or production is required for this position.

Base Compensation Range: $58,894- $88,337 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary based on company performance (as of 2024).

The Welder / Grinder is responsible for basic understanding and competency in welding and grinding of a variety of different metals, shapes, tanks, vessels, piping, components, etc. This position performs precision smoothing, polishing, and grinding of surfaces.

Essential Job Functions
•    Set up, operate, and maintain manual welding, grinding, and/or cutting equipment.  
•    Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry.  
•    Inspect and perform quality checks to ensure conformance to established tolerances and specifications.
•    Perform inspection of work pieces for quality defects and communicate appropriately. 
•    Perform welding and grinding procedures accurately to avoid warping, shrinking, and distortion.
•    Position and secure work pieces safely using overhead cranes, hoists, and other appropriate lifting devices.
•    Grind work pieces to a #4 (32 RA) finish using approved safety processes and procedures.
•    Set up, perform, and maintain various types of polishing equipment as needed. 
•    Obtain and maintain at least one ASME Certification to be used as required.
•    Meet all company quality standards and follow defined SOP’s.
•    Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position. 
•    Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position. 
•    The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. 
•    All other duties as assigned.  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)
•    Knowledge of metal working process’s.
•    Knowledge of various welding techniques including TIG, MIG, etc.  
•    Basic knowledge of grinding abrasives and material surface finishes.
