Current Openings

Co-workers in this classification are required to have an advanced understanding and competency in stainless steel welding and grinding operations and blue print reading. Must be able to pass our Craftsman test.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform difficult and unusual manual and machine welding operations in all positions, including layout and fit up
  •  Shape, cut or form metal to fabricate complex parts using press brake, shear, roll, dishing machine, flanging equipment and various forming equipment.  Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns
  •  Set up or assist lower classifications in setting up machines
  •  Operate mobile crane equipment with the capacity of greater than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment
  •  Finish grinding where grade and type of abrasive must be determined. Finish and compliance to specifications are critical
  •  Perform other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned
  •  Guide and train other employees in any classification to improve their skills and perpetuate the trade

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies), Education

  • Requires considerable skills to fuse dissimilar metals, maximize weld strength, avoid distortion and conform to exacting tolerances and specifications. Must obtain and maintain ASME certifications 
  •  Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns
  •  Knowledgeable in physical properties of metal, effects of heat, allowances for thickness, weld shrinkage and welding techniques
  •  Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches or other specifications with a high degree of proficiency and little or no supervision or direction. 
  • Knowledge of product, mechanics, shop mathematics, shop processes and procedures is essential
  •  Knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are critical

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Basic Blueprint reading, basic welding and basic grinding

Base Compensation Range: $23.45 - $25.20 per hour 

Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour 

Variable Compensation Range:  Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

Co-workers in this classification have a basic understanding and competency in stainless steel grinding and welding operations and blue print reading.  Must be able to pass our Fabricator Advanced Grinding test.

Essential Job Functions

  • Grind where grade and type of abrasives must be determined by others
  • Operates mobile crane equipment with the capacity of less than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment
  • Set up and operate machines to make production parts to standard shop blueprints
  • Perform ordinary manual welding, grinding and cutting operations in all positions
  • Grind where grade and type of abrasives must be determined by others
  • Quarter heads and shells for fit-up and determine degrees and location of fittings and nozzles
  • Paint where finish or compliance to specifications are critical
  • Operate spray foam insulating and sandblast equipment
  • Perform tinning and complex soldering operations
  • Operate spot and seam resistance welding equipment
  • Set up and operate machines that require minimal skills and experience, such as presses, shears, saws, punches, etc.
  • Assemble motor controls and perform three-phase wiring requiring a working knowledge of ladder diagram logics
  • Coordinate various warehouse activities involving receiving, special order and inventory
  • Perform other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies), Education

  • Knowledge in blocking, clamping and holding parts to avoid distortion and conform with normal shop tolerances and specifications
  • Basic knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are necessary
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches and other specifications with proficiency
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic Blueprint reading, basic welding and basic grinding

 

Education and Experience

HS diploma or GED equivalent preferred.  Previous basic blueprint reading, basic welding, and basic grinding experience.

Base Compensation Range: $21.38 - $23.00 per hour

The Material Coordinator position is responsible for receipt, storage, issuance and delivery of raw material for the machine shop. This position provides accurate costs for engineering, labor, and material based on customer inquiries and supports project management with change orders. This position is also responsible for accurate data entry, inventory control, organization, and placement. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Receive parts and material verifying PO requirements and the packing list.
  • Deliver parts and material to other departments, customers or vendors.
  • Load, unload trucks and mark raw stock material in racking.
  • Mark incoming material with part number and PMC heat code. 
  • Accurate cycle count inventory completion at various frequencies.
  • Maintain the raw material yard in an organized, easy to navigate manner.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and required inspections on equipment and vehicles. 
  • Verify proper material utilization and allocations on work orders. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Overtime may be necessary and required and is dependent on workload.

The Product Development Technician will work in a team environment to design, test, and improve the different product lines produced by Paul Mueller Company.

Essential Job Functions

  • Testing equipment from different product lines 
  • Use and calibrate a variety of test equipment
  • Have working knowledge of JDE
  • Assimilate, interpret, and plot data gathered from test 
  • Suggest and implement design improvements
  • Identify possible problems and offer solutions 
  • Possible international travel in order to perform service and startup of various products
  • Help introduce new projects into manufacturing, along with training and work instructions
  • Provide technical support for Sales, Manufacturing, QA, Service, and Customers
  • Contact vendors as required

The Production Supervisor position plans and directs all manufacturing duties for a business unit including the direct supervision of hourly employees.  This position is responsible for the safety of their team and quality and efficiencies of the product.  The Production Supervisor plans and assigns work, enforces company policies and procedures, drives continuous improvement, and mentors and develops hourly employees.

The Quality Control Supervisor position is responsible for all aspects of quality control for Paul Mueller Company products.   This position is responsible for ensuring that products meet all regulatory requirements and customer expectations. This position is also responsible for leading, training, and developing Quality Inspectors throughout the organization. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for coaching, teaching, and supervision of assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for effective employee relations. Initiates and is proactive with employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through identifying problems and resolutions. 
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals while adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.  
  • Responsible for the performance management (hiring, development, discipline, termination) of direct reports while collaborating with Human Resources.
  • Supervise and direct the daily work of the Quality Inspectors assigned to the Business Unit. 
  • Collaborate with coworkers to identify and document acceptable quality standards.
  • Review customer specifications for prequalification, quotes, orders and compare to PMC's quality system when warranted. 
  • Develop and review quality plans as required.
  • Lead customer quality audits and supplier qualification assessment visits as needed.
  • Remain abreast of changes in ASME, BPE, PED, National Board, and other international codes and standards. Assist with updating procedures and manuals as needed.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to develop and implement continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and cost and improve product quality.
  • Periodically review non-destructive testing training programs, ensure personnel are trained accordingly, and continued competency is achieved.
  •  Complete and deliver employee performance reviews.
  • Engage with Customer Service, Engineering, and Production to resolve warranty issues and implement appropriate corrective or preventative action when required.
  • Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate reliability, precision and accuracy of processes, products and production equipment.
  • Ensure process control documents adhere with set requirements or project specifications.
  • Review and execute product quality requirements such as planning, manufacturing methods, and customer specifications.
  • Lead Quality Control continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in customer visits, new product or process development, and other cross-functional team projects and Business Unit meetings as needed.
  • Review order specifications, scope, and identify all deliverables.
  • Proactively communicate any and all special requirements to other business units as needed.
  • Work with the documentation team to identify quality submittals and schedule with the PM and communicate open requirements as needed.
  • Request commitment dates from Engineering and Manufacturing to meet schedules.
  • Support Internal Audit team as required.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position

Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.  Some college preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of Quality Control experience in a controlled environment.

 

 

Base Compensation Range: $79,236 - $123,933 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

The Service Technician is responsible for customer satisfaction through direct contact with our customers to fulfill their technical service requirements. This position collaborates heavily with our Sales/Service Departments to promote future equipment, parts, and service sales. 

                                                                                                                               

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide onsite technical assistance to customers which includes but is not limited to new machine site acceptance testing, start-up commissioning, customer training, service contracts, warranty, and billable work. 
  • Promote sales of new equipment, parts, and service by gathering pertinent information on customer’s needs and projects.
  • Report daily service contact and activities with customers via service reports, e-mails, and telecommunications to the Service Manager.
  • Report daily job related expense activities to the Service Manager as required and per company policies.
  • Perform Pre-FAT’s and FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Tests) and assist manufacturing operations when not traveling.
  • Responsible for making travel arrangements (rental car, airfare and hotel accommodations), utilizing the company’s assigned travel agency and per company policies, with little to no supervision.      
  • Develop support solutions for customers through partnership with a Senior Service Technician to ensure the customers’ needs are met.   
  • Leverages knowledge of Senior Service Technician in regards to methodologies, skills, and tools.
  • Perform site evaluations of equipment for customer and/or business unit.               
  • Care for and maintain tools, tool boxes, and calibrated diagnostic tools.
  • Obtain and maintain current OSHA 10 certification at a minimum. 
  • Obtain and maintain current safety training certifications and licenses, such as LOTO, Motorized Equipment (forklift, aerial lifts), PPE, Fall Protection, etc.
  • Travel to customer locations including international travel will be 75% minimum and up to 90% during peak demands.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Maintain company provided cell phone and laptop computer and abide by company internet policies.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.

  • One (1) to three (3) years’ of experience with pharmaceutical grade steam generation system maintenance and repair preferred.

The Welder / Grinder is responsible for basic understanding and competency in welding and grinding of a variety of different metals, shapes, tanks, vessels, piping, components, etc. This position performs precision smoothing, polishing, and grinding of surfaces.

Essential Job Functions
•    Set up, operate, and maintain manual welding, grinding, and/or cutting equipment.  
•    Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry.  
•    Inspect and perform quality checks to ensure conformance to established tolerances and specifications.
•    Perform inspection of work pieces for quality defects and communicate appropriately. 
•    Perform welding and grinding procedures accurately to avoid warping, shrinking, and distortion.
•    Position and secure work pieces safely using overhead cranes, hoists, and other appropriate lifting devices.
•    Grind work pieces to a #4 (32 RA) finish using approved safety processes and procedures.
•    Set up, perform, and maintain various types of polishing equipment as needed. 
•    Obtain and maintain at least one ASME Certification to be used as required.
•    Meet all company quality standards and follow defined SOP’s.
•    Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position. 
•    Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position.
