Current Openings

The Business Unit Manager will manage the assigned Product Line, developing and managing the product line’s business plan. The responsibilities of the Business Unit Manager include increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. The Business Unit Manager utilizes existing ideas to assist in the development of new ideas based on industry experience and contacts with current and potential customers. The Business Unit Manager must possess business and technical skills, the ability to visualize strategic and long-term objectives, and the drive to make that vision a reality. They must enjoy spending time in the market to understand its problems, and actively engage in innovative problem solving activities. The Business Unit Manager must be able to communicate with all areas of the company and will serve as the internal and external liaison for the assigned product line. The Business Unit Manager directs the Product Line in its daily activities while frequently working with sales and key accounts.

 

Manages the entire product line from strategic planning to tactical activities. Develops the product line by identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications, developing production timetables, evaluating pricing structures to achieve the product line’s financial objectives, creating and implementing time-integrated plans for product introduction, and developing marketing strategies.

  • Work closely with the General Manager insuring the alignment of the Product Line and Paul Mueller Company objectives. This position is to assist in the protection and promotion of the interests of the Paul Mueller Company as a whole.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Position requires travel up to 20% with possible international travel.  Actual travel time will depend on the needs of the product line and what is required to meet the business plan objectives.

Base Compensation Range: $117,251 - $200,562 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

The Designer I position is an entry level position that performs design work for a single large-scope project or several smaller-scope projects simultaneously. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Convert project information (e.g., specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing uses to produce a product.
  • Identify deviations in job scope, estimate the magnitude of changes, and notify the appropriate parties.
  • Assure that design continuity is maintained throughout the entire project.
  • Ensure written and verbal communication is maintained within engineering and with other design and engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings by reviewing and verifying technical data and calculations consistent with design quality control procedures.

The Project Coordinator / Estimator utilizes blueprints, project specifications, and knowledge of the industry to analyze the project needs and compile accurate cost estimates to provide a well-defined scope and budget for quotation and order entry. Upon receipt of an order, the Project Coordinator / Estimator is responsible for coordinating the project throughout the organization to ensure it is delivered within scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards that meet the contractual obligations and the customer’s expectation. This position provides support to sales team for all standard and engineered to order (ETO) projects and may be simultaneously responsible for multiple lower-level projects in the estimating and execution stages. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Work directly with sales team to fully understand the scope and details of each project and customer wants and needs.
  • Review customer specifications for cost and schedule impact.
  • Prepare preliminary vessel calculations to assist in accurately estimating each vessel.
  • Provide estimated costs and projected timelines to manufacture vessels, large skids, and other products.
  • Work directly with external vendors to obtain quotes as required for each project. 
  • Update customer data sheets or provide Mueller data sheet to be reviewed by sales and submitted to customer’s proposal.
  • Specify exceptions and clarifications to be reviewed by sales and submitted to customer’s proposal.
  • Regularly meet with sales, manufacturing, engineering, design, electrical, and other field experts as needed to accurately estimate specific project costs and timelines.
  • Maintain routine direct contact with the customer throughout the contractual agreement until the order has been successfully completed. This includes tasks associated with accounts receivable ensuring timely payments are received, warranty claims, timely updates to the customer about their project, change order management, and schedule communication.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which includes working with all levels and organizations of the company to maintain and provide status of key projects.
  • Develop support solutions through partnership with a Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager that address any project concerns while meeting the customers’ needs and aligning with the expectations of the industry associated with the work.
  • Leverages knowledge of Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager in regards to Project Management methodology, skills, and tools.
  • Identify risks and inefficiencies and works with Project Manager II / Senior Project Manager to troubleshoot and resolve.
  • Responsible for estimating tasks involving change order costing, make/buy analysis, and comparison of alternative design and manufacturing decisions.
  • Develop and implement plans to document project scope, schedule, tasks, risk management, and reports to communicate progress to the team.
  • Work cross-functionally with others and assist to lead meetings to determine objectives, track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and execute deliverables assigned to project.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for direct sales of assigned products within the Heat Transfer Products division.  The individual in this position must have a broad technical knowledge of the Company’s products by virtue of technical education and experience.  This position requires working with customers and Manufacturer’s Representatives defining technical capabilities, application suitability, ASME requirements, design alterations, defining specifications, etc., as needed in selling the Company’s products.  The individual must exercise considerable independent technical and commercial judgment over sales projects within an assigned region of the division. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Grow the sales volume within the assigned region
  • Meet target profitability goals within the assigned region
  • Identify weak market areas and develop target customer lists for those areas
  • Manage the Manufacturer’s Representatives maintaining regular contact with them and customers regarding proposals, orders, service requirements, future equipment needs, and arranging sales calls.
  • Provide sales, product and application training to Manufacturer’s Representatives
  • Perform regular analysis and performance evaluation for each Manufacturer’s Representatives within assigned region, and assist in decisions to develop or replace Representatives
  • Conduct presentations for Manufacturer’s Representatives and customers including all technical aspects of the project, pricing, payment terms and shipping schedules.
  • Assist in recovery of aging receivables within the region. 
  • Manage performance to goal of Manufacturers Representatives over multiple KPI’s and assist in developing targeted strategies to improve performance as needed.
  • Assist in selection of new Manufacturer’s Representatives by conducting searches for, and interviewing potential representatives in the assigned area.
  • Review and negotiate settlement of customer complaints in cooperation with other personnel on aftermarket and warranty issues.
  • Develop annual sales plans and expense budgets in assigned region
  • Perform service/troubleshooting of heat exchangers when appropriate and required.
  • Assist in developing sales promotions and advertising strategy 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • The position requires up to 60% travel (possible international) for customer presentations, sales support, and service consultation as required
  • Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and may provide own vehicle for on-the job transportation purposes, as applicable

The Total Rewards Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, administering and managing the organizations benefits programs, benefits compliance and compensation programs.  This position is crucial to the organization to ensure that the Company’s compensation structure and policies and benefit offerings are competitive, compliant and aligned with the goals of the organization.  The Total Rewards Analyst is responsible for benefits compliance to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations while supporting our coworkers. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze, design and administer the benefits programs.
  • Conduct benefit broker assessment and go to market for review and bid every three to five years.
  • Conduct market research and analyze benefit trends and benchmarks annually considering new age trends and plans. 
  • Collaborate with broker and TPA’s as needed on all benefit plans, improvements and adjustments ensuring coworkers and Company are considered from a cost impact.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and the broker and/or TPA on any member concerns or issues that can be resolved.
  • Develop and deliver all aspects of open enrollment annually, including schedules and presentations. 
  • Create and maintain a multi-year benefits and compensation strategic plan.
  • Understand, track and ensure legal compliance requirements with federal, state, and local regulations, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Stay current with changes in benefits laws and regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in HRIS systems.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits plans and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and manage benefit utilization including EAP and Direct Primary Care memberships.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues.
  • Conduct market research and analyze compensation data to benchmark organizational salary and wage data. 
  • Analyze and design competitive salary structures and pay scales.
  • Communicate pay structures, internal banding, market compensation analysis results and compensation budgets to leadership and the organization as required.
  • Perform and complete internal equity analysis and audits to ensure fairness and consistency in pay. 
  • Maintain and update any and all compensation policies and communication regarding market analysis, compensation and/or banding adjustments.
  • Collaborate with all levels and positions throughout the organization regarding compensations including providing managerial advice regarding effective compensation decisions.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and management to create and maintain job descriptions to ensure market compensation analysis is accurate.
  • Participate in compensation surveys.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions, classifications, exemption status and progressions as needed and required.  Job description creation to be created out of discussions with coworkers and managers to document current responsibilities and skill required to perform the current or future position.
  • Train the organization as needed on any changes as required.
  • Prepare for and be available to participate in union negotiations as required to support benefit and compensation needs.
  • Ensure lessons learned are applied to future efforts.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Experience working throughout multiple states.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of benefits and compensation experience preferred. 
  • Certifications Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM-CP preferred.

 

 

Base Compensation Range: $70,746 - $110,654 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

Working Conditions

Primarily time will be in a manufacturing environment, with some time spent in a general office environment (computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, etc.).  Most projects will require this position to personally get hands on to implement. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures. Machinery with energy sources including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, or other energy.

Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator I is responsible for efficiently managing the flow of physical parts within the manufacturing facility to ensure timely fulfillment of production requirements. Key duties include coordinating part routing, optimizing distribution processes, and facilitating material movement to maximize manufacturing efficiency. Collaborating closely with internal supply chain teams, this role expedites work orders, conducts inventory management tasks, and monitors key performance indicators to drive operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate the routing of physical parts to appropriate distribution centers in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Proactively maintain and optimize parts distribution processes to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Facilitate material movement around the facility to ensure efficient use of manufacturing time & space. 
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain teams to ensure timely fulfillment of manufacturing needs.
  • Expedite and prioritize work orders to meet production demands.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts to reconcile physical and system inventory.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including adjustments and cycle counting, to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Support internal work order processing.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery and shipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Actively seek out opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Attend and contribute to weekly production meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to open book management.
  • Ensures lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned, including backup for other business unit personnel, to ensure support of the production plan.

Base Compensation Range: $46,686 - $70,045 annually

  • Associates Degree in Materials Management or similar discipline preferred. Other degree fields and related experience will be considered.
