Co-workers in this classification are required to have an advanced understanding and competency in stainless steel welding and grinding operations and blue print reading. Must be able to pass our Craftsman test.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform difficult and unusual manual and machine welding operations in all positions, including layout and fit up
  •  Shape, cut or form metal to fabricate complex parts using press brake, shear, roll, dishing machine, flanging equipment and various forming equipment.  Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns
  •  Set up or assist lower classifications in setting up machines
  •  Operate mobile crane equipment with the capacity of greater than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment
  •  Finish grinding where grade and type of abrasive must be determined. Finish and compliance to specifications are critical
  •  Perform other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned
  •  Guide and train other employees in any classification to improve their skills and perpetuate the trade

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies), Education

  • Requires considerable skills to fuse dissimilar metals, maximize weld strength, avoid distortion and conform to exacting tolerances and specifications. Must obtain and maintain ASME certifications 
  •  Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns
  •  Knowledgeable in physical properties of metal, effects of heat, allowances for thickness, weld shrinkage and welding techniques
  •  Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches or other specifications with a high degree of proficiency and little or no supervision or direction. 
  • Knowledge of product, mechanics, shop mathematics, shop processes and procedures is essential
  •  Knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are critical

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Basic Blueprint reading, basic welding and basic grinding

Base Compensation Range: $23.45 - $25.20 per hour 

Shift Differential: $2.00 per hour 

Variable Compensation Range:  Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

The Designer I position is an entry level position that performs design work for a single large-scope project or several smaller-scope projects simultaneously. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Convert project information (e.g., specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing uses to produce a product.
  • Identify deviations in job scope, estimate the magnitude of changes, and notify the appropriate parties.

The Designer III is a senior level designer position that performs design and layout work, usually for multiple extensive-scope projects. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Convert project information (e.g., specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing uses to produce a product.
  • Convert design output into ERP records that manufacturing uses to produce a product.
  • Generate parts lists, requisitions, and other ERP records necessary to convert design information into system demands.

An Electrical Engineer II is an experienced engineer who is responsible for complex electrical projects to support the business through researching, designing, developing, and testing complex electrical equipment and systems.  This position independently develops and implements complex automation process, schematics and panel designs through a variety of software programs. An Electrical Engineer II is also responsible for validating the electrical design for optimization, reliability, performance, and safety standards.    This position is responsible for improving and utilizing tools and processes to strategically support continuous improvement. 

                                

Essential Job Functions

  • Support the business unit through electrical design activities.
  • Perform programming activities through Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC) and/or Operator Interface Terminal (OIT).
  • Configure and program instrumentation as required to complete projects.
  • Assist electrical team in conduit routing and installation details as required to complete department projects.
  • Document processes to support the business needs which may include development of various operating instruction or manuals.
  • Electrical, mechanical, and process installation and trouble-shooting of more complex projects to support the business.  This may include the use of hand tools, gauges, multi-meters, and other measurement devices. 
  • Collaborate with customers as required to promote successful project execution, including but not limited to discussion with customer engineers and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Protocol execution.
  • Quotation development to support sales and marketing activities.
  • Training and technical assistance and development to enhance safety and the technical development of others as needed.
  • Support and troubleshoot assembly and testing processes as they relate to electrical needs and functionality. 
  • Provide support and timely resolution to issues related to electrical needs throughout the production process.
  • Provide guidance and training to other Electrician’s and Electrical Engineer I’s.
  • Leverage knowledge of Electrical Engineer III / Senior Controls Engineer in regards to electrical methodology, skills, and tools.
  • Drive and execute electrical continuous improvement ideas and projects to improve efficiencies, improve manufacturability and reduce rework. 
  • Technical collaboration with other professional disciplines to support the business.

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing complex electrical equipment, automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, and alarms. This position may mentor the Senior Maintenance Specialist position.                  

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure safety by observing the local, state, and national electrical-code regulations.
  • Must be able to understand technical documents, such as wiring schematics.
  • Strong understanding of VFD’s and PLC’s.
  • Perform work on voltage up to 13,200 volts safely.
  • Perform complex wiring assignments as needed.
  • Install lights, power, electronic, and control circuits as needed.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance.

The Manufacturing Engineer I is responsible for developing, designing, implementing and managing tooling, processes and procedures. This position will train all personnel on improvements or implementation of tooling, processes and procedures. The Staff Engineer is a senior contributor who provides process and structural engineering analysis, calculations and design of specialized and Engineered To Order (ETO) products. This position allows for a wide degree of creativity and latitude to take the lead on high-impact, complex projects.  The Staff Engineer will oversee project direction from an engineering perspective as well as analyze and provide solutions to challenges. This position will provide guidance and training to other engineers throughout the organization.  

Essential Job Functions

  • Generate and distribute all process and/or structural discipline engineering information needed to construct and execute a project.
  • Effective, frequent interaction with sales, purchasing, estimating, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
  • Review sales orders, specifications, and cost estimates to assure process, design and/or structural output fulfills requirements.
  • Prepare design calculations and perform or direct the preparation of drawings and design documents.
  • Review all drawings and specifications and ensure they properly relate to the estimate.
  • Support and troubleshoot assembly and testing processes as they relate to design manufacturability and functionality. 
  • Provide timely resolution to issues related to process, design and/or structural engineering throughout the production process.
  • Provide advanced process, design and/or structural support throughout the production processes as needed.
  • Provides training and guidance to Designers and Design Engineers.
  • Leverage knowledge of Senior Staff Engineer / Lead Engineer in regards to process, design and/or structural methodology, skills, and tools Collaborate with other professional disciplines throughout the business on technical inquires and needs.
  • Drive and execute continuous improvement ideas and projects to improve efficiencies, improve manufacturability and reduce rework. 
  • Take ownership of key projects, leading them from concept to completion. Ensure project milestones are met, issues are resolved, and designs are aligned with scope requirements.
  • Support sales and estimating to evaluate customers' technical design requirements and develop a proposed solution during the quoting process.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in one or more aspects of design guiding co-workers to solve critical problems.
  • Establish and maintain document control procedures.
  • Provide training to direct personnel and customers as needed. 
  • Travel including international, could be up to 15% as required by the project or other needs.
  • Ensure lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Obtain and maintain a Certificate of Engineer of Responsible Charge per ASME Section VIII Division 1 for two or more scope activities as applicable.
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in a process and structural engineering related field is preferred. 

Base Compensation Range: $79,949 - $125,049 annually 

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary base on company performance (as of 2024).

Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for set up, maintenance, and operation of various types of machinery and programming. This position may require routine assembly operations including electronic components utilizing schematics and blue prints. Performs routine quality inspections before and after assembly using standard measuring devices to ensure conformance of all product specifications.

The Welder / Grinder is responsible for basic understanding and competency in welding and grinding of a variety of different metals, shapes, tanks, vessels, piping, components, etc. This position performs precision smoothing, polishing, and grinding of surfaces.

Essential Job Functions
•    Set up, operate, and maintain manual welding, grinding, and/or cutting equipment.  
•    Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the industry.  
•    Inspect and perform quality checks to ensure conformance to established tolerances and specifications.
•    Perform inspection of work pieces for quality defects and communicate appropriately. 
•    Perform welding and grinding procedures accurately to avoid warping, shrinking, and distortion.
•    Position and secure work pieces safely using overhead cranes, hoists, and other appropriate lifting devices.
•    Grind work pieces to a #4 (32 RA) finish using approved safety processes and procedures.
•    Set up, perform, and maintain various types of polishing equipment as needed. 
•    Obtain and maintain at least one ASME Certification to be used as required.
•    Meet all company quality standards and follow defined SOP’s.
