The Assistant Production Supervisor is an apprenticeship position that collaborates with a higher-level manager for training and development regarding all responsibilities involved in leading and directing production and employees.  This position assists with planning and directing all manufacturing duties for a specific business unit or department.  This position is responsible for their team's safety and production quality, and efficiency.  The Assistant Production Supervisor assists with planning and assigning work, drives accountability of company policies and procedures, executes continuous improvement, and manages direct personnel. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for coaching, teaching, and supervising of assigned personnel with guidance from the manager.
  • Responsible for effective employee relations. Initiates and is proactive with employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues by identifying problems and resolutions with guidance from the manager. 
  • Provide on-site leadership for the team by building and motivating team members to meet goals while adhering to their responsibilities and milestones with guidance from the manager. 
  • Responsible for the performance management (hiring, development, discipline, termination) of direct reports while collaborating with Human Resources and guidance from the manager.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining business relationships, which include working with all levels and organizations of the company to maintain and provide the status of key projects with guidance from the manager.
  • Assist with management of hourly employees, including monitoring, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and learn how to appraise job performance with guidance from the manager.

Base Compensation Range: $59,159 - $88,739 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

The Business Unit Manager will manage the assigned Product Line, developing and managing the product line’s business plan. The responsibilities of the Business Unit Manager include increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. The Business Unit Manager utilizes existing ideas to assist in the development of new ideas based on industry experience and contacts with current and potential customers. The Business Unit Manager must possess business and technical skills, the ability to visualize strategic and long-term objectives, and the drive to make that vision a reality. They must enjoy spending time in the market to understand its problems, and actively engage in innovative problem solving activities. 

 

The Business Unit Manager must be able to communicate with all areas of the company and will serve as the internal and external liaison for the assigned product line. The Business Unit Manager directs the Product Line in its daily activities while frequently working with sales and key accounts.

 

Manages the entire product line from strategic planning to tactical activities. Develops the product line by identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications, developing production timetables, evaluating pricing structures to achieve the product line’s financial objectives, creating and implementing time-integrated plans for product introduction, and developing marketing strategies.

  • Prepares short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.

  • Position requires travel up to 20% with possible international travel.  Actual travel time will depend on the needs of the product line and what is required to meet the business plan objectives.

Travel throughout the United States and Canada while operating newer equipment and enjoy being home most weekends.  The Over the Road Driver position is responsible for the delivery of our stainless steel products directly to our customers.  This position is responsible for safe loading and unloading of the product as well as securing loads for travel.  The Over the Road Driver must comply with all safety and transportation rules and regulations for all of North America and Canada established by the Department of Transportation. 

 Essential Job Functions

  • Long distance driving with oversized loads throughout North America and Canada.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment and product as needed.
  • Ensure all loads are secure utilizing chains, straps, tarps, etc.
  • Assist with assembling and disassembling trailers as needed.
  • Communicate with customer as needed.
  • Ensure customer deliveries arrive on time and as expected.
  • Communicate with Mueller Transportation operations team as needed. 
  • Maintain a detailed log of working hours to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.

The Cost Accountant III has key responsibilities of acting as a lead for the Cost Accounting Department through supporting and training the Cost Accountant I and II roles.  This position is responsible for inventory accounting and acting as the operations contact for system transactions impacting cost and inventory management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for supporting the Cost Accountant I and II roles by assisting with required tasks as necessary to ensure continuity of operations and departmental deadlines.
  • Maintain knowledge of current GAAP guidance in relation to cost accounting and inventory valuation and assist in updating internal processes and procedures to comply as necessary.
  • Assist the Cost Accounting Manager in periodically evaluating current accounting procedures to comply with internal control requirements to ensure appropriate internal control processes and procedures are in place and adequate.
  • Act as a lead on the daily operations of the cost accounting department including inventory and work-in-process (WIP) valuations, manufacturing variance analysis, reviewing and approving daily sales update batches, and intercompany orders management.
  • Act as a lead of the cost accounting department for certain monthly tasks including profit recognition, net realizable value (NRV) analysis, construction-in-process (CIP) entries, calculation of company backlog, intercompany eliminations, and warranty reserves analysis.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory balances through the book to physical analysis and adjustment.
  • Coordinate with the inventory control analyst to ensure appropriate cycle counting is occurring and adjustments are being made as necessary.
  • Assist the Financial Analyst role in the quarterly labor and burden rate updates by completing appropriate inventory rolls and rate uploads in the system during the rate update process.
  • Complete quarterly calculation and analysis of LIFO inventory value and update company reserve.
  • Collaborate with the business unit managers to review and evaluate slow-moving inventory levels and make / update reserves as necessary quarterly. 
  • Collaborate with the appropriate operations personnel to manage consigned inventory.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and performs monthly / quarterly / yearly reconciliations of the cost accounting / inventory accounts and resolves discrepancies as they are discovered. 
  • Assist the Cost Accounting Manager in maintaining the cost accounting close schedule during the month-end close process and continually work towards timeline improvement.
  • Take lead with the other Cost Accountants during the quarterly and year-end audits as various deliverables are required as well as assist the Cost Accounting Manager with responses to analytical questions asked by the third-party auditors.
  • Collaborate with the other Cost Accountants and the Cost Accounting Manager to identify and complete departmental process improvement opportunities. 
  • Leverage knowledge of Cost Accounting Manager regarding cost accounting methodology, skills, and processes. Establish and maintain procedures.
  • Analyze manufacturing, labor, overhead, and material costs to identify trends, cost drivers, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Conduct profitability analysis by product line, project, customer, and business unit to support pricing, resource allocation, and business decisions.
  • Analyze trends in inventory, production efficiency, scrap, rework, and absorption rates and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Utilize data analytics tools and ERP reporting capabilities to improve financial visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational insights.
  • Ensure lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines throughout the business on technical inquires and needs.

A Craftsman performs highly skilled welding, grinding and machine operations to expertly fabricate metal tanks, vessels and their components. This position must be able to accurately interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and adhere to quality standards.  A strong ability to measure, calculate and work with tolerances is needed. Attention to detail, craftsmanship and a commitment to quality are essential.

Essential Job Functions

  • Performs difficult and unusual manual and machine welding operations in all positions on a wide range of metals and alloys, including layout and fit up. Requires considerable skills to fuse dissimilar metals, maximize weld strength, avoid distortion and conform with exacting tolerances and specifications. Must obtain and maintain ASME certifications.
  • Shapes, cuts or forms metal to fabricate complex parts using press brakes, shears, rolls, dishing machines, flanging equipment and various forming equipment.  Requires considerable skills, knowledge and experience. 
  • Layout, locate and mark bending lines, construct templates and patterns.
  • Set up or assist lower classifications in setting up machines. Guide and train other employees in any classification to improve their skills and perpetuate the trade.
  • Operates mobile crane equipment with the capacity of greater than 20,000 lbs. and directs the rigging and hoisting of equipment.
  • Provide train the trainer responsibilities for various crane operations. 
  • Must be knowledgeable in physical properties of metal, effects of heat, allowances for thickness, weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
  • Finish grinding where grade and type of abrasive must be determined. Knowledge of abrasives, conditions of metal and finish are critical.  Finish and compliance to specifications are critical.  Requires considerable skills and experience in grinding methods and procedures.  Includes Sheet Polisher.
  • Operating paint and sandblast equipment in some demanding applications.
  • Performs other duties requiring similar skills and abilities as assigned.

The Estimator position is responsible for computing and providing the projected cost and time frame needed to successfully complete a project with consideration given to materials, purchased equipment, engineering, labor, contracted labor, etc.  The Estimator utilizes blueprints, project specifications, and knowledge of the industry to analyze the project needs and compile accurate cost estimates.  This position provides support to sales team and project management team for all standard and engineered to order (ETO) projects.  Overall the Estimator ensures a well-defined scope and budget to allow successful completion of the project that ultimately satisfies the customer’s expectation and meets the company’s financial goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide estimated costs and projected timelines to manufacture vessels, large skids, and other products.  
  • Work directly with sales and project management teams to fully understand the scope and details of each project and customer wants and needs.
  • Regularly meet with sales, manufacturing, engineering, design, project management, electrical, and other field experts as needed to accurately estimate specific project costs and timelines.
  • Review customer specifications for cost and timelines.

A Production Worker is an entry level position that is responsible for assisting with various tasks supporting the manufacturing process. This may include shipping, receiving, moving, preparing, cutting or assisting in the preparation of material to manufacture tanks, vessels and their components.  Additionally, this role may support basic fabricating, grinding and welding operations for non-ASME materials while adhering to quality standards.

  • Consult on the technical aspects of the sales process from lead generation through proposal, negotiation and order close for custom-engineered stainless-steel products.
  • Analyze customer specifications, drawings and Request for Proposal’s (RFP’s) to assess technical feasibility, identify optimal manufacturing methods, material requirements and cost drivers.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to qualify leads, conduct discovery calls and develop tailored technical solutions that align with customer requirements, company capabilities and maximize profitability.
  • Lead estimating efforts to gather detailed project specifications, validate assumptions, develop accurate and competitive cost models and implement pricing strategies.
  • Review and approve key deliverables from the estimating team in a timely manner, meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation of  bid and scope documents and presentations to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, customer-focused value propositions.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of products, systems and industry standards and present competitive differentiators effectively to customers
  • Monitor pipeline status, track estimating and project management deliverables to allow for accurate communication to the internal teams and customers regarding potential risks that may impact close rates or project timelines. 
  • Participate in customer meetings and site visits to address technical concerns, validate solutions and build trust as a credible advisor.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, change order management and post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Conduct technical sales presentations to customers, consultants and contractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts and assist RSM’s in the development of new business in target industries and regions through prospecting, networking, trade shows and strategic outreach.
  • Actively seek out opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Attend and contribute to open book management.
  • Ensure lessons learned applied to future efforts.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time both flying and driving with possible international travel with the ability to obtain a passport.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Sciences, Business or equivalent technical field preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in technical sales support, solutions engineering, inside sales or estimating with a project-based, engineered to order industry preferred.   
  • Experience working with engineers, architects, general contractors, and project owners in industries such as food/beverage, pharma, chemical, or heavy industrial is preferred.

Base Compensation Range: $89,579 - $145,421 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting all shipping and receiving operations across the facility. This position is responsible for preparing, documenting, and tracking incoming and outgoing materials, including shipping and sales orders, exports, tariffs, and freight records. This role is also responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, verifying, and documenting materials, ensuring proper movement and storage throughout the facility, and maintaining detailed records and data entry. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist requires regular communication and coordination with warehouse teams, production staff, external vendors, and freight carriers, demonstrating strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with drivers and company representatives. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Print, prepare, and maintain records on all outgoing shipments of products and sales orders.
  • Complete shipping and receiving transactions within the JDE system. 
  • Complete key part releases, issue parts, and key back orders, to complete data entry for parts within the JDE system. 
  • Prepare all calibration charts for shipment.
  • Review all shipments physically and electronically to ensure the appropriate customer and shipping documentation is present.
  • Prepare and maintain all export documentation of products shipped to customers, including determining and calculating applicable tariffs for shipped products. 
  • Assist with quotations and schedule pick-ups for all LTL loads and prepare bill of ladings.
  • Contact freight vendors and drivers to resolve discrepancies, obtain additional information, and/or schedule shipments. Perform additional duties such as data entry, assembling work packets, and maintaining inventory as necessary.
  • Coordinate the movement of import and export shipments and prepare freight documentation.
  • Solve problems as required through communication with freight vendors and drivers.
  • Administer and monitor the compliance of the warranty program, including processing claims, maintaining documentation, and communicating with customers, vendors, and suppliers regarding any warranty issues
  • Acknowledge the receipt of items from a shipper/carrier, perform an initial inspection of goods and packaging before accepting delivery to determine if items have been damaged in transit.
  • Attend and contribute to open book management through weekly attendance at huddles and forecasting as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to the necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
  • Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and is frequent in this position.
  • Process material returns through call tags or other methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with the buyer on all sales order purchase part delivery requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve disputes on purchase orders & requisitions.
  • Receive, unpack, identify, and inspect materials and goods at the receiving location within the facility, sign the Bill of Lading after confirming acceptable condition upon arrival.
  • Transport raw materials and other materials to the designated production or storage location using the preferred system and process. 
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, scan and file sales orders, scan load documentation, and maintaining inventory as necessary.
